Robert Axelrod is a writer based in Los Angeles, originally hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Robert was recognized as a winner of the 2020 A-List, an annual competition honoring the best work by assistants in the entertainment industry. He is the 2021 Grand Prize Winner in the ScreenCraft Stage Play Competition, was a 2020 HUMANITAS New Voices Winner, and the recipient of the 2019 CineStory TV Fellowship. Robert was also recently selected as one of the participants for the inaugural Jewish Writers' Initiative: Digital Storytellers Lab.
His work has also placed in several other writing contests and fellowships, most notably as a finalist for the Austin Film Festival and the Final Draft Big Break Competition, as a top 25 script in the Tracking Board Launch Pad Pilot Competition, as a quarterfinalist in the Academy’s Nicholl Fellowship, and as a two-time semifinalist for the ABC Disney Television Writing Program.
In addition to his professional and creative pursuits, Robert has been a volunteer crisis service counselor with the Trevor Project, the nation’s leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention service for LGBTQ youth.
